Jaguar XF wins ‘Car of the Year’

By George Skentzos |

The new Jaguar XF has taken out top honours at the What Car? awards held in London last night, also taking out the Best Executive Car’ category, ahead of the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes CLS.

Jaguar XF ‘Car of the Year’ at What Car? Awards

The this merely another award to add to the mantle piece for the XF, having taken out ‘Car of the Year’ from The Sun newspaper, ‘Limo of the Year’ from Top Gear magazine, ‘Interior of the Year’ from CAR magazine and the ‘Design Award’ from Autocar magazine.

“Jaguar is creating a new generation of cars that started with the XK, and now continues with the all-new XF – a four door, five passenger car that has the heart of a sports car and the looks of a grand tourer. Like the XK, XF is visually striking and thrilling to drive.”

Following its debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September, the Jaguar XF is available to order now with Australian deliveries beginning in June.

Other winners included a double for Volkswagen with the Golf 1.4 TSI named “Best Small Family Car” for the second year running and the Eos 2.0 TSI taking out “Best Open Top Car”.

Spot on Smokin! Couldn’t agree more.

Apparently the SV8 is a corker. 0-100 in 5.1, so it don’t go like a tweed hat n jacket.

And just for Brazilain Missile it comes in a diesel

  • Sund00bie

Top gear reviewed this car in season 10 episode 10, and I agree that it’s a huge leap for Jag.
It has gone from that 4 head lamps and round grill to this, which looks pretty awesome.

James May was testing all the instrumentation inside, and i reckon it’s better than any BMW or Merc out there.

  • capri_xr2

Ford sold jag a bit early with COTY and profit for the year it might have made it a solid part of the Ford global arm come back?

  • capri_xr2

add on to the above, ford america management think that the F truck will save them so what do us ford supporter expect from such idiots

  • Elitist

Jaguars are rubbish..Always were. Why buy one when you can buy say..A 335 BMW?
When I think of Jaguars I think of Harold Bishop.

  • Ivan

I was just talking about the gadgets inside the Jag, not the car as a whole…. =)

  • o

    love it

  • SCHULTA

    thats rubbish elitist,
the bmw 3 series is germanies pipe and slippers car
the xf is hotter then any beemer and from reviews handles better, so get over your prejudice and admit that this is a freakin good car

  • Bavarian Missile

Schulta……..I agree I like this Jag,but Im a little growly over what you called the 335i……Jeez mate it won its class in the 12 hour at Bathurst again this year I didn’t see any Jags there, you think it would have made it around the track for 12 hours without breaking down.hahaha

This car will not stand the test of time, it is dull and uninspiring, the interior is trying to be something it isn’t and the seats themselves look like their from a 1995 Scorpio. The nose looks like an ugly Lexus and the rest looks like a fat Mondeo. This car is a mistake and will lose loads of money for the manufacturer.

I just don’t know how anyone could rest easy with a Jaguar. So many promises over the years and yet still that reputation as an unreliable money eater. How could you trust it?

And it’s easy to scoff when the motherland bestows praise awards upon it. No credibility there.

It’d be great to see awards publicly taken back if a car turns out to be a dud 5-7 years down the track.
