The XF will be available with a choice of four engines; a fuel efficient 2.7-litre V6 diesel, 3.0-litre V6 petrol, 4.2 n/a V8 petrol and range topping 4.2 s/c V8 petrol.
Every model will feature Jaguar’s six-speed sequential shift system with steering wheel-mounted ‘paddles’ for manual gear selection capable of changing gears quicker than even the acclaimed XK’s transmission.

Nice arse.shame about the face…..But I guess you don’t look at the mantle piece when your poking the fire!!!!!!
But what happens when you need to take a family photo, BM.
I like this car a lot but the front is meh.
Hi Missile…diesel crusader here. Buy the diesel jag its performance is pretty darn good and I bet it pumps out more Torque (the important bit) than the M3. Hey while i’m on my crusade just look at the stats for similar sizes engines petrol v diesel. Hey we’ll use BMW as a source.
335 coupe diesel 0 -60mph 6.1secs v 335 petrol 6.2secs
320 coupe diesel 0 – 60mph 8.0 secs v 320 petrol 8.8secs yes 8.8
535 saloon diesel 0 – 60mph 6.4sec v 335 petrol 6.5 secs
525 saloon diesel 0 – 60mph 7.7secs v 525 petrol 7.7 secs
In gear times are always quicker in a diesel to…come on admit it….And I won’t mention miles per thankful. CARS magazine said once the 330 diesel saloon was the most enjoyable car they have driven to cross continents. And the M3 a low 295lbs torque, My crappy 3.0diesel Vectra has 400lbs….go on go on admit it. Oh by the way I do like M3/5’s they’re ace.
Go on and admitt what?????? I need to talk BMW Motorsport into making a diesel M3……
I am a “M” fan in case you haven’t noticed! Why would I car what a Diesel or petrol 3 series does!!!
My “EVO M3 as you call them over there does 0-10 in 5.5 and its ten years old! So you want to have a run in your Vectra against me! hahahaha…..good luck!!!!!!
hahaha….as my Husband just pointed out..Ill agree with you when Top Fuel Dragsters start using diesel……and running 4 sec passes!!!!
Come on No Name……come back cause hubby is dying for a run in on diesels and drag racing!!!
Oh come on whats the point in drag racing. doesn;t really prove much. The Class 1 offshore boats used to run 1000hp diesels. reliability was better but outright acceleration admittedly was less. Like to see you driving a dragster down to Coles.
Go on buy a diesel maid.
No Name,
could you please quickly try to sell diesel to me.
i want to hear all your pros and cons as to why we should all be going diesel.
i want to hear the other side coming from a nation soooo strong in the belief of diesels.
i want to hear what they (the government or dealers) tell you
Well Ive driven 702 Hp to Coles……if only I would of had a bit more…….hehehe Hell I use to park it out the front of my Open Homes too…..
I don’t have anything against Diesels……..just that I prefer petrols! Can we please call a truce!
Ill even let you have the last word No Name………
Awww Shucks BM – OK Truce. Can I have a go in yer M3 if I ever get down under again. Judging by the wet storms bashing us to pieces at the moment it won’t be long. Roll on summer can’t wait to get out on the RIB.
AndrewM. I’m not saying you should all drives Diesel. If you lived here in StalagEngland Run by Herr Brown with fuel approaching $2.60 and Rego approaching £4500 dollars for Gaz Guzzlers you would want to get into a diesel.
I’ll leave all other arguments for the Forum.
Oh by the way if money were no object i’d have the 4.2 XK as they don’t do that in a diesel. snigger snigger
hahaha…….How about I take you for a run to Coles in the REAL CAR……..its had a bit of a detune though….Im sure Ill still get you hanging on to the roof lining though!!!!!hahaha
So what is your Forum Name…….No Name ????
You can PM now you know!
They had a review of this car on the latest Top Gear, the interior is gorgeous, as is the back. Front isn’t too bad either.
Compared to it’s predecessors though, wow.
No Name,
are LPG vehicles also penalised under the “gas guzzler tax”
whats it worth over there at the moment too. i cant remember what it was when i was over there
Hi Andrew. Not many use LPG here, you’d struggle to find a filling station when you need it. Yep I suppose you could call and LPG big engine a gas guzzler as it still big. But LPG is pretty much a by-product of oil extraction so why not put it to use.
The front end looks like a Subaru Liberty Blitzen, but with the headlights flipped upside down.
Which idiot in Jag HQ let them release that car with such an ugly face?! Please get rid of the headlights and grill.
StalagEngland, I love that one No Name. Serves you right for electing a Labor Government.
Spitfire – Sadly I didn’t vote, new labour = conservative.
Just as a point about diesels. Don’t think the diesel you drove 10 years ago are anything like those of today. I know countless people who after driven a say diesel after a petrol are converts. My neighbour was well hacked off after taking his Audi A4 2.0 petrol for a service and the garage lent him an A4 diesel. Now he drives a diesel.
Did someone mention diesels?????Yawnnnnn
Sorry BM..I’m going green with a pedal car
hahaha…..well done!!!!!
No Name,
so is the $4700 fuel guzzler already operation or is it still a proposal?
where are the boundaries drawn?
a certain engine size or fuel consumption figures?
whats the point of the tax? to lower emissions or reduce straiin on oil supply? or part of the congestion BS tax
in all its just a poor excuse for the government to make some dollars by curbing us to do what they want
I wouldnt be suprised if the new falcon had a bit of this look to it. Look around the door window lines and the back gaurd line leading on to the bonnet. They look very similar to me. But to the jag, I love the look of it, and the performance n the wide range of engines. I would love to own one of these cars. Closes ill get is tonight when im fast asleep.
“Look around the door window lines and the back gaurd line leading on to the bonnet”. sorry i meant to say the back gaurd to around the back of the boot. Look at the CGI pic of the drawings of the GT.
Hi AndrewM. Its only a proposal based on Co2 outputs and hits the likes of Porche, Ferrari, Range Rovers but given our money grabbing tax raping government it will happen just after the next election if they get in.
I don’t believe its about the environment particularly but the 4 x 4/SUV brigade in London village are under pressure
The only thing that stops me buying any Jag (other than an X type) is the poor (comparatively speaking) state of my bank account. In better times (BJWH) I drove an XJ6 for 8 yrs. Bloody beautiful car. I’d love an X350 or an XF. I honestly cannot understood why the people that can afford these cars all seem to buy BMW, Mercs etc. Don’t tell me they’re better buit, more reliable etc. for the data doesn’t back that claim up, Merc & BM’s are well down the customer satisfaction table, along with Volkswagen (the brothel company!). The only German auto company near the top is Audi & they are several rungs below Jag. Auf Wiedersehen u. gutes Glück
I think it looks nice, mostly, but they shouldn’t have put the bulge in the headlights. otherwise some bits look heaps like different cars(Aston martin) and i still love it
Anti-Spam word was Austin. HA!
The rear looks to much like an Aston Martin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Forget the Austin part!
