With petrol hitting $1.5 litre, the time for electric cars is now. Hybrid cars continue to sell well, but many buyers are after a car which will really make a difference in the fuel bill.

The Dodge ZEO Concept is an electric car that shows the Americans are starting to shy away from fuel-guzzlers.

Although the concept is not that practical, given its 23-inch rims, some of its features are sure to find their way into production in a few years time.

The Dodge ZEO uses a 200kW electric motor which Dodge has been sharing amongst its concept cars.

It looks great and it’s green what the hell is going on, even though the rear looks a bit like the Crossfire back end.

If this car was in a dealership down the road, and under $70,000, i would go and buy one at lunch.

Heads up to Ford and Holden… we dont want more boring Falcons and Commocrap.

    Build stuff like this!

I love it. My kids love it. We would be happy to upgrade our Caliber to this. Please bring it to Australia!! I agree, so much better than mass produced Ford and Holden.

It’s hideous – but then again it is American… This thing looks like a Corvette xe’d with a Nissan Murano a Mazda RX-8 and a Renault Megane

The only decent looking modern cars to come out of Detroit in the past couple of years are
The Ford Mustang – One of the best examples of “Retro Tech” The Dodge Challenger – please bring it to Oz; and
The Chev Camaro – mainly because it was designed by Holden
