2012 Chrysler 300C interior image leaked

By Tim Beissmann |

After being drip-fed tiny scraps of information by Chrysler for months, an image of the all-new 2012 Chrysler 300C interior has leaked onto the internet ahead of an official release.

The image reveals a light cabin with satin chrome highlights and real golden wood trim. The wood, leather and other surfaces are said to be a much higher quality than the outgoing model, and will be available in a range of colour combinations.

An 8.4-inch entertainment/navigation display (believed to be shared with the 2011 Dodge Charger and Journey) dominates the dashboard.

The steering wheel has been redesigned and behind it sits a contemporary blue-lit instrument panel.

The traditional centrally mounted analogue clock maintains pride of place atop the dashboard, and overall the interior retains its American feel, although clearly heavily inspired by more expensive European competitors.

Compared with the current model’s interior, which was very harsh, dark and even a little bland, the new one exudes a more luxurious and high quality look and feel.

Exterior images and specification details of the 2012 Chrysler 300C have been released in the past month.

The vehicle will make its debut at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January and will arrive in Australia in 2012 when right-hand drive variants become available.

hate the first pikky.a wood steering wheel.what, are we suddenly back in the 60′s…

    • Shak

Apparently yes, as MB seems to think that their sporting Limos and Coupes need Wooden for some reason.

Ummm… by MB do you mean Mercedes Benz? The same Mercedes Benz who sold out of Chrysler to FIAT?

I admit, here and now, to a soft spot for the tortoiseshell wheel and garnishes of the current model.

When are we Aussies getting the series of updates that the US has received? I’ve always kinda liked the Dodge Journey and the new one’s interior is awesome! They can keep the ‘new’ Avenger though…

Looks nice if you can option that wood colour out, which I’m sure you can. Why would Chrysler choose such an awful colour for a promo photo of the interior.

I think I’m one of the few people who likes woodgrain in a car’s interior (sigh, even the fake stuff) but this looks just nasty. Sorta looks like they salvaged some old pine bookcases and cut them to size.

That wood really is an assault to the eyes isn’t it, screaming “look at me”. It’s a shame because the cabin looks quite luxurious otherwise.

Again, Americans just cannot do interiors properly. The fit and finish lags way behind European cars. That Corolla wood is shocking. Do not even get me started on the current 300C.

Even the plush Cadillac Escalade is lagging – compare it to a Range Rover, even a Range Rover Sport.
