Well this is one car that will most likely not see production for some time, or at the very least, not in its current futuristic form. Dubbed the Taiki concept, it features the next-generation rotary engine and according to Mazda, it will influence the future of the company’s sports coupe lineup.

The new engine, 16X RENESIS, is a 1.6-litre engine, a 0.3-litre increase over the current design. The new engine features a two rotor design as well as direct injection and a longer stroke.

Rotary fans will be pleased to know the Taiki concept is rumoured to be the platform for the return of the iconic RX-7.
