Pre-Production Camaro front-end revealed

Chevrolet has tempted enthusiasts with yet another image of the undisguised pre-production 2009 Camaro Coupe, more than likely captured testing right here in Australia.
In one sense, these images serve only to build hype for the Camaro prior to its release later this year. However accompanying this latest release are GM’s doubts surrounding various design features such as the headlamps, indicating they may be more interested in consumer feedback to ensure the Camaro is the best it can be.
“The new Camaro is quickly evolving into final form, but some of the details you see here (such as the headlamp design) may change before production begins this year.” Alicia Dorset, GM FastLane blog editor.
What are your current thoughts on how the current rendition of the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe is progressing?

If the front was changed it would be a nice looking car. Maybe HSV should import a couple hundred for a special “Brocky” monaro. Not all ford fans r one eyed u no.
The front yes fix up as angular and not curvy, the back as well needs a minor tweak as too Dodge Avenger for me and rear tailights look fine but could look more better as flattened on tops of them. Too high waste line as not much glass. Overall looks fine!
Don’t worry Cobra 320, theres only one idiot who has a problem with “one-eyed Ford fan” I am a Ford fan but I like the “Holding in you Holden” commercial.
The car however, I don’t like the triangle point at the front, the rest is OK.

I think it looks awsome. The only change I’d make to it is lower the tail lights a bit and make them fully rounded instead of the semi circular look they’ve got going on it. Overall I love the look of it and I’ll be getting 1 if they make their way to OZ.
Have a look at the rear side windows and how little clear glass there is inside the black perimeter banding. It’s gonna be very claustrophobic back there.

The front end doesnt look too bad, I would move the fog lights in closer to the centre of the car to make it look tougher. The rear end needs a bit of work… I just doesnt say “muscle car” to me, maybe flatten it out a bit, make the tail light lenes wider, just something to flow with the classic lines of the rest of the car.
Personally I really do not like these headlights. The ones on the concept (and as featured in Transformers) look 10 times better to me. These tiny little projector beams give the car a ‘bug-eyed’ look.
Agree with most of the comments here on the rear end.
yeah id increase the size of the headlights. id actually bring the tail lights up to the boot level and not have them recessed as they are now, that would be deadly. honestly though im more interested in the interior, if they can’t get that right it won’t sell well anywhere barring the States – not that that would be of much a concern to GM.
The twin round taillights is a a feature usualy reserved by GM for the Corvette.. [Oh ahd the Holden Cruze]. The semi circles give the impression that the car is lowered
As for being being claustrophobic in the back seat.. well if you’re under 2ft tall; I’d say by now that you’d be used to tight spaces etc
And the headlights.. I’d like to see ones similar to the old 67-69 Camaro where they were semi-consealed behind a fake grille like flap which rolled back when they were turned on.. Similar to the Landau Coupe
B&M Performance built a show camaro with them and a cool neon Bowtie on the grille ithad an eyecatching Pink-Purple-Blue paintjob too
i dont think rear seat accomodation will be too bad actually, if you consider that it is being built off the same platform as the commodore, i would suggest it will have similar rear seat accomodation to the last monaro which was very good for a coupe
Why would they need to disguise it, its already starred as a character in transformers. It looks pretty similar to the camaro in the movie. Except this has twin head lights.

Yes i totally agree on the coments about the camaro on the transformers movie,why change something when it already looks hot.I think they cant get the car to look any better than what it looks like on the movie.Overall i think the car has a great shape and i hope the car is on the lots in australia because i will be getting one for sure.
Needs the concept headlights. Don’t mess with a good thing. Lets see the rear spoiler!!!
The concept’s front end was the one to keep!
All from the headlight look and placement, to the smaller grilles, to the fog lights ‘pushed’ closer to the center.
If breatheability was the issue, maybe increase the height of the lower grille, but the upper needs to remain narrower, and push those foggers back in!
If an aftermarket crew was to fabricate a ‘origional concept’ nose clip, I’d be the first to buy!
