This now allows the major car makers to produce more global vehicles that are cheaper and more likely to succeed as where many world/global cars have failed in the past. the economy of scale now makes more sense as opposed to, for example ford and Holden going it alone on product programs concerning the falcon and commodore, as they and many more had done for the past 40+ years. Global auto Competition has also pushed this quick and vital change.
