Video: Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone

By Brett Davis |

Porsche has just released a video on YouTube of its new driver’s program aimed at teaching drivers about maintaining car control and developing safe, sporty driving skills.

The video gives a glimpse of what drivers will learn as outlined by Porsche chief driving consultant, Gordon Robertson, when they take part in the Porsche Experience. He takes a nice new Porsche 911 GT3 through a number of challenges, including a skid pan that is said to replicate freshly fallen snow, as well as a wet surface replicating sheet ice.

He also takes the car through a series of challenging roads and an all-out thrash around a handling circuit. It’s all based at Porsche’s driving centre at Silverstone. Check it out, it looks like fun.

Nice car, nice idea, but I don’t know why that guy annoys me.

This is something Holden/HSV/Ford/FPV should do for all their drivers, so they stop wrapping themselves around trees.

omg, i wish that test track was in my back yard

I’d wish they’d have it somewhere where the public can pay some $$ and utilise/learn even on a small dailydriver for driver training rather than some disused TAFE car park (where I did my first defensive driver training). But the Govt Pty Ltd wouldn’t want the public to know how to drive properly especially in a closed environment.

    Pretty sweet track
