2011 BMW X3 details
The 2011 BMW X3 details are out, revealing the new model will feature improved dynamics and new interior features with plenty of technology, and more interior space. The new model is also the first BMW 'X' car to get optional Damper Control and Dynamic Drive Control for the suspension, gearbox and engine settings.
Trim levels range from the BMW X3 xDrive20d featuring a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine offering 135kW of power, through to the range-topping BMW X3 xDrive35i with an inline six cylinder turbocharged engine offering 225kW of power.
Inside, the car offers a whopping 1600-litre luggage space capacity with the rear seats folded flat (550L with seats up). It also gets BMW's ConnectedDrive system showcasing a range of interfaces, such as the internet, sat-nav and various media controls, as well as a display for the rear-view camera and Top View feature.
Auto Stop Start will also be available on six cylinder models for the first time as will be the new eight-speed automatic gearbox. There's also electric power steering on all models with a variable steering ratio package available as an option.
All cars feature Dynamic Stability Control but there's also now the option of adjustable suspension settings for further road-holding reassurance. The Dynamic Damper Control is selectable via in-car controls which the driver can toggle between Normal, Sport and Sport+ modes.
BMW's M Sport package will also be available some time in 2011, offering suspension, aerodynamic, exterior and interior enhancements typical of M Division.
Local pricing for the new BMW X3 will be available prior to its launch early in 2011.
