Next-generation Ford Ka CGI
Although Ford Australia has confirmed there are currently no plans to bring the Ka back to Australia, the car world is buzzing with spy shots of the little Ford. Our graphic artist has been hard at work producing this image of the next-generation Ka.
The humble Ka arrived in Australia in late 1999 and left only three years later. The new Ka is a little different though as the blue oval has joined teams with Fiat to built the car alongside the award winning Fiat 500, ensuring a much better product.
Europe will see the car before year’s end and it will be built at Fiat’s Tychy plant in Poland. Click through for Spy shots of the new Ford Ka.
Would you buy the new Ka if it looked like our artist’s rendering?

Nice little motor, a worthy successor to the old aged Ka. Shares some of the design styling with Fiats’ Grande Punto.
Looks bigger than the predecessor sadly, why are most cars becoming bigger. Hopefully Ford old pushrod engine from the 70’s will be sidelined and replaced with a newer version.

It looks similar to the old Ka in name only. A much better looking machine. It should be a winner if it matches the Fiat500.
One thing I really don’t like is the way more and more modern cars have the headlights stretching further up the bonnet. The headlights bloody near reach the windscreen in this CGI

The only similarity between this KA and the previous piece of KArap is the 4 wheels, thank god.
Australians were not so gullible as to accept the old KA, and gave it a deserved relegation to history. Even the KIA Ford Festiva was a far better thing (and sales reflected it) even though it was a 1 star vehicle.

That actually looks quite nice! If it looks like that in the metal they will sell quite well. The spy shots with the camouflage looked horrendous even by camouflaged car standards..

Reckless1…
Not quite true, the original KA sold here was a better car to drive than the Kia sourced festiva, it just didn’t hit the styling sweet spot with Aussies like it did in Europe.
Engine performance was line ball between the 2 while the KA was smaller overall.
Sales don’t always reflect a better car.
This new car looks like it will be another hit for Ford of Europe.

Looks worse than the other pictures seen of the ka covered in camouflage!

Adam. I think the size and cheapness of the old Ka where its redeeming features. Hopefully the new one will be as good as the old.

I like the look of the cgi and hopefully it is nice and small. Has anyone here actually punted the old ka? it handled like nothing else, like a road legal go kart! you just didn’t want to be seen in it unless you were a teenage girl. Usually I got under 5lt/100kms and top speed topped out just under 190kph. I flogged that little thing to within an inch of its life for 6 years and nothing ever broke.
