True AndrewM………………its like that dude the other day that said Falcons don’t sell well cause of the center console……..

Hey Oz……….you would be surprised how well they work at speeds as low as 90 klm……..really..it has a purpose!

The higher their placed the better they work!Also helps with fuel economy but lets not get into that………

thats the key word BM……..”overall” looks and the mazda “overall” does look quite impressive.

i also wouldnt be surprised if the new mazda 2 styling is a tiny insight to what to expect from the new “Ka” we have seen spy shots of

i still cant see how a rear diffuser that makes up prob one tenth of the rear styling drags down the rear styling overall by 9 tenths

Spoilers and that diffuser are useless on road cars. Unless you doing 200KM/H

The Diffuser is more for show, I doubt it would improve anything when racing at high speeds.

But the rear diffuser has a use doesn’t it……remove it and wont it affect the handling? If anything it needs bigger wheel to fill those guards! Over all I think it looks real hot !

Its good you see my point re rear diffuser, I can appreciate that, but still imo that makes the car more tacky then a TRD OVERALL (To put it in simple terms, on the tackiness scale the TRDs front is 7/10 the rear is 4/10 compared to the Mazda at 9/10 for rear and 4/10 for front… overall more tackier).

I can see TP’s and JBot’s comment easy…but as front of car is the in your face look and selling point of the car (and what most people remember) the rear diffuser in my opinion is irrelevant even though different – so TP it is a very weak lame drawing of the straw there with TRD Aurion!

The Yaris in my opinion is better then this as Mazda 2 is too curvy on rear lights which are upswept too radically on bottoms and look odd. Mazda 2 is more racier look, but the Yaris is more overall better looking as more symmetry and style to design. Liked Yaris from first viewing in Car mag!

well easy paul,
it means i can appreciate things that may not be my taste but can atleast acknowledge them.
im not a holden fan but i can at least acknowledge some of their good design aspects for eg.

i do agree the rear diffuser does look tacky but im sure its nothing 30secs with a phillips head screwdriver wouldnt fix.

also i thought the rear of the TRD looked good but the front tacky.
same applies to you….how can you say the TRD wasnt a tad tacky looking, yet this one is heavily tacky for your liking?

Rear diffuser does look like an aftermarket add-on.

I like the brake ducts and love the crease in the doors, it’s line meets up with the join of the rear bumper and quarter panel.

For a sporty small car, it looks great to me.

I Have no clue how you can say this looks great… and not be a ricer. I will show it to some friends and see what they think. The front looks alrite… because its prity much the Mazda2. The rear is HIDEOUS no matter how you look at it, which is why I am annoyed because people claimed the TRD had tacked on bits, this rear disffuser looks like a backyard job gone wrong.

Ok guys coming from the biased Ford camp.

You people are a joke… you attack the TRD as tacky… yet this thing, look at that rear diffuser, the TACKIEST I have ever seen…. looks like its been glued on and then room for the exhaust cut out! And I wont get started on those rims, look like 12s and the design takes me back to the mid 90s.

I have bias for Toyota, but when I comment on other cars I do so with no bias. The regular Mazd2 is alrite looking… this tacky piece of junk is not good looking.

Great to see a change of design ethics and not stick at same same and have the balls to do it; and MYKE you are spot on about TOSSER PAUL. Small, sporty car with a bit of kick hopefully, just what I need around busy Adelaide city. In a time of high fuel prices we need little cars like this that give performance and economy and don’t look too bad either. Having your cake and eating it too.

Not a fan of the mini diffuser, but looks pretty good.
