Video: Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opens to public

Of course the ultra-rich, oil-rich land of the Abu Dhabi is the place to host a Ferrari World theme park and now, after years of construction, the park has been officially opened as of 7pm last night.

The park is nestled under a huge 204,386 square-metre colossus which is said to be shaped to look like a traditional double-curve Ferrari body. Inside, there's over 20 rides including kids rides, cafes, Ferrari shops and numerous virtual Ferrari presentations... literally fun for all the family.

'Made in Maranello' is one such virtual presentation the park offers. It's a visual experience which takes you through the Ferrari factory in Maranello. There's also a flume ride which takes you through the heart of a virtual V12 engine, and a tower ride called G-Force which shoots you through the middle of the roof, 61 metres into the air. This ride is said to mimic the exact feel of the G-force experienced when driving a real Ferrari. The G-Force even uses Ferrari Enzo replica seats.

The park will have a grand opening in December this year. Ticket prices are based on height; those who are under 150cm tall get junior admission to rides and ticket prices of around AU$46 (165 United Arab Emirates Dirham). Guests taller than 150cm will have to pay around AU$63 (225 AED). Premium ticket prices are around $105 (375 AED) and $75.50 (270 AED) for those under 150cm.

Premium ticket holders gain entry to the park via the Fast Track lane and access to the VIP Lounge.
