CarAdvice is currently attending the national media launch of the latest member of the IS family and will be posting a review of the car tomorrow night, after clocking up over 400-kilometres in Lexus’ IS 350 F Sport.

If there are any grumblings about the IS 250, it usually focuses on the power output and subsequent lack of initial oomph of the line.

With 233kW and 378Nm of torque driving through the rear wheels, that’s an issue that the IS 350 has sorted, good and proper.

Make no mistake this is a bona fide sports sedan with enough under the bonnet to take the fight to its German rivals. It’s quick, 0-100km/h comes up in just 5.6 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 270km/h.

Lexus has also lifted the bar when it comes to luxury with a host of new features, inside and out.
