December 21, 2007 by Alborz Fallah
According to a report in Britain’s Birmingham Post newspaper, India’s largest vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors, is the winning bidder in the auction for Jaguar and Land Rover.
The reports states that Tata will pay $1.67 billion AUD for the two Ford luxury brands. The blue oval has no plans to make an official announcement until early next year.

Hey dudes chill. I luv Indian food massively and lets just play all the BS down as good may come of this as the car landscape is changing. Only a true bonehead is stuck in mud thinking otherwise!
Oh yeah, my above comment about Indian Food and Chill is floored (2 separate issues). I luv it hot and spicy period!
ENOUGH! Guys, please STOP!
Yes the Indians are here and on the go, fantastic! This is a 4×4 review so lets stick to it.
Freelander-2 as a 4 wheel drive is a great vehicle, but in my opinion is currently badged with reliability issues that existed with its predecessor (previous model), given it has a great engine, slightly overpriced for the brand and so forth, question is how will it compete with the Tiguan, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and also now a diesel Nissan X-Trail here down under. Any comments?
