Lexus CT200h at 2010 AIMS

Lexus is showing its new sports hybrid at the 2010 AIMS at Darling Harbour. The new hatch will go on sale here in Australia next year.

The Corolla-sized luxury model will attract plenty of consumers upon its launch next year, mainly due to its ability to provide moderate sports-car like dynamics matched with economical hybrid driving fuel efficiency.

Here at the show the car looks better than it does on paper. It features a number of discreet sporty details. There's shadow-gray alloy wheels, a neat little roof spoiler at the back and a rear apron/bumper bar that's only a few fins away from being a diffuser.

Under the bonnet there's a 1.8-litre petrol engine as well as an electric motor. These two power plants can be utilised in three different driving modes, too, with 'Normal', 'Sport' and 'ECO' available at the touch of a button.

Prices for the Lexus CT200h are yet to be confirmed. We'll update you with more details prior to the early-2011 launch.
