Chrysler 300C line-up
The Chrysler 300C comes in a formidable line-up with Sedan and Touring versions both available with a potent engine range catering for everyone from the pure performance enthusiast with the 300C SRT8, to the fuel conscious with the state-of-the-art turbo diesel.

The four distinguished powertrains include the:
- Smooth 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine (183 kW, 340 Nm) – stupidly slow at 0-100 km/hr in 9.7 seconds
- Renowned 5.7-litre HEMI® V8 petrol engine with Multi-Displacement System which increases fuel economy up to 20 per cent (250 kW, 525 Nm) – 0-100 km/hr in 6.8 seconds
- Efficient Mercedes-Benz 3.0-litre V6 CRD turbo diesel engine with standard diesel particulate filter and fuel consumption of just 8.2 litres per 100 kilometres (160 kW, 510 Nm) 0-100 km/hr in 8.6 seconds
- High performance 300C SRT8 powered by a 6.1-litre HEMI V8 – already available in the Sedan and arriving in the Touring late in 2006 (317 kW, 569 Nm) – 0-100 km in 5 seconds
Models are equipped with a comprehensive list of standard equipment and safety features including
- Electronic Stability Program (ESP),
- Emergency Brake Assist,
- All-speed Traction Control System (TCS),
- Four-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS),
- driver and front passenger multi-stage front airbags,
- front and rear side-curtain air bags
- front seat belt pretensioners.
Its not just the looks and the power, but for a car built in Magna Steyr, Austria – the 2005 Chrysler 300C has been awarded five-star ratings for driver and front passenger protection in a frontal crash, the highest rating in the U.S. government’s safety crash test program, conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Prices for the 300C start from $53,990 for the 3.5-litre V6 Sedan.
Since muscling onto the scene late last year the award winning 300C has been a run-away success in Australia, as it has been around the globe. With 200 registrations in August the 300C trounced the competition accounting for more than 50 per cent of total segment sales (upper large under $100,000), outdoing its nearest rival by a resounding 79 units to become the clear leader in this prized segment.

I am 300C (Sedan) owner.
Car is is a good roomy ride with enough power and comfort to have made it one of the best I have owned.
BUT I will sell it quickly because the after Sales Service is shocking from dealers too spread out to be conveniently located.
Because the rear seat belts strangle passengers and while Chrysler dealers know about the issue Chrysler will not help them fix it.
The doors need to be slammed closed, so hard that occupants still in the car get sore inner ears.
The suspension does not like bumps and the Diesel is very sluggish down low revs.
There are also other well known mechanical faults coming out of the factory that are not fixed by dealers happy to just shove them out of the door without a responsible proactive pre-delivery. Would rather have a client come back with a complaint and to tell them “yer we fix this all the time – common problem” Just inconvenience for an owner.
A Novelty car that had the potential to attract a long term client base but will likely burn potential future Chrysler – Dodge clients who were caught once and will not be duped again.
Let the kids have them to turn into souped up yank tanks.
I have the same car, no dramas at all, perhaps you were just unlucky. I’ve had friends buy identical holdens, one was great, the other was crap. I find the 300C to be a lovely car in all aspects of drivability, maybe you would be better off with a hyundai…
Owner of 300c 5.7 (sedan)
I am so glad i have found this site. I bought my car in January 2009, and in the few months that i have owned this car it has been back to the service centre 6 times.
The badge has needed to be replaced 3 times
The rotors needed to be replaced in the first 2 months.
3 days later i went straight through an intersection due to my brakes failing, later i found out its a common problem a loose bolt on the drive shaft.
Now a month later the car has been towed backto the service centre, cause all the power has shut down, windows ,door locks, everything. Also the ESP BAS light is on the dash.
So yet again i am without my new car and there isn’t a thing i can do about it, all i can say is what a lemon and the only thing you can do is burn it.
