Shannons Collectors’ Auction at Motorclassica to sell desirable classics

Shannons will host an auction which will see a few high-desirable classics as well as some equally fetching modern cars sold off at the upcoming Shannons Collectors' Auction at Motorclassica at the end of the month.

Making up the collection will be an 'as-new' Rolls-Royce Phantom, expected to fetch up to $600,000-$650,000, quite a saving over the $1 million-plus new car price tag. Also up for auction will be an ultra-rare 1934 'Derby' Bentley 3.5 litre Drop Head Coupe expected to sell for around $180,000-$210,000.

To bring a bit of Aussie into the auction, there'll also be a Shannons award-winning 1956 FJ Holden Special up for sale. It's expected to rake in $34,000-$42,000.

There will also be a stunning and highly desirable Mercedes-Benz 1959 220S 'Pontoon Cabriolet' which is expected to sell for around $120,000-$140,000, up for auction.

Those needing a muscle car fix could take pleasure in bidding on an immaculate, genuine low-kilometre, 1966 Shelby GT350 that will also be presented to bidders. The classic V8 icon, don in traditional white and blue paintwork, is expected to fetch around $220,000-$260,000.

The auction will take place at 2pm on October 24, at the Royal Exhibition Building, Motorclassica. The cars will also be on display from October 22 until October 24 inside the Shannons Showroom (321 Warrigal Road, Cheltenham) for everyone to check out up close before the auction commences.
