I wouldn’t say Jbot has been attacking Ford (just having a tiff with Me.) All he really said was sometimes some Holden fans and Ford fans are as bad as each other. True. And he said he was a big Typhoon fan (as am I).
I’d agree with Goog that Holden has the better V8 and Ford has the better 6, maybe just poor choice of words. There’s other things I wouldn’t agree with him tho.
I’m hoping the new BOSS (320 ?) will be the better engine, time will tell.
Yeah, I hope that’s all over now. 320 in the August wheels mag got me happy, but hope they give us a suprise….

Remember WoW that BA won COTY. BA is still a great platform. Commodores changes weren’t wholesale from VT to VZ either.
There will be so many differences in this car it will only “slightly resemble” a BA. This is evident despite the great camo on all the spyshots.

And its a 5.4 not a 6.0 but i hope to see a 6.0 boss one day.
I can tell you that so many of you are completely wrong about what ‘Orion’ is compared to BF.
It is essentially completely new just like VE…. the only thing that could be called ‘carry over’ is the rear floor/wheel tub to the rear seats.
Everything else is re-engineered, redesigned, recalibrated, re-everthing in layman terms!
Don’t believe everything you read on drive.com.au or any other journo derived article.

and on that note dont you remember he has bagged out the 6.0L commy motor time and time again and now to suit the situation he suddenly reckens it is a good motor….
one important note to Goog (and jbot) is that the 302kw on the current GT was achieved running regular unleaded where as the 307kw GTS gained 307kw running premium!!!!!!!!
its a bit silly to say the 5.4L falcon motor is under powered dont you think??
on premium the 5.4L might equate to around 310kw.
and even if it was a 5kw difference in favour of the commy who the hell would notice it anyway??? especially over 300kw

well its called life, and things get better as they progress through. and also couple that with many spy ashots and inside info. you would also have to be silly to think that ford will lift the blankets to behold a current BF but only in a different colour

You make a great point on the kws Andrew…..yep its like that now, a few kws here and there is nothing ! Most guys mod theirs these days anyway if your into HP wars!! What my other half doesn’t agree on is the amount of money people will spend to gain 7 – 10 kws on an exhaust!Up to $7000……..call me old fashioned but that is not value! All comes down to the driver and tyres in some cases.
What we also have is inside sources AndrewM Ford has more leaks than a Indonesian Fishing Boat!……shhhhhhhh

When I saw the Jim Beam Tin it looked more like a BMW M3 or a 318i Hatch.
If they wanted to make it look more like the DJR Falcon they could have put in a slightly smaller bottle and given you a set of playing cards [in the boot area].. and added the decklid

I have been studing this car for over a year now and hearing from ford that this car in the fairmont and up maybe even the futura that they will be home to dusk sensering headlights and rainsensoring wipers. This car is all ready thought to be a 5 star safty car.
I hope the photos are wrong. Surely in 2008 a manufacturer would realise that good design requires the rear wheel arch arc to be at least as large or larger than the front arch to make the vehicle look balanced.
