Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS
December 12, 2007 by Matt Brogan
Update 13/12/2007 - New photos added.
Maintaining our Aston Martin theme today (and why wouldn’t we) comes news from Gaydon, England – the home of AM, of an RS version of the Vantage Coupe, complete with V12 engine!
The modified 6.0-litre V12, sourced from the DBRS9 production class racer, produces a very healthy 447kW, an increase of 164kW over the standard V8 Vantage. The engine is pushed deep in to the engine bay ensuring almost ideal weight distribution at 51:49 whilst conquering 0-100km/h in four seconds flat.
A significant reduction in mass has been achieved thanks to the carbon fibre weight loss program, seeing bonnet and boot lid replaced and all non-essential items removed. The car weighs just a tad over 1,500kg giving it almost 300kW of power per tonne.
Finished in the same Glacial Blue paint work as our road test convertible, the RS Vantage may be considered for a small production run.
The V12 Vantage RS is expected to cost more than Aston’s flagship DBS (which should start at around $425,000 AUD when it lands in Australia in March.
You’ll have to wait a while before we can review this one, in the mean time have a read of our V8 Vantage review.

Nice spec, wonder how it behaves when pushed, lunacy or tamed beast?
I don’t think the word tamed can be used with a car pushing 450kW!
How nuts would that be to drive! The power to weight is phenomenal. Time to buy a Tattslotto ticket ;)
Good, Aston Martin still has the Power!!!!
What kind of interior trim is that? I don’t like it inside!

Comon, sure they’re great, but do we have to be told every time the CEO takes a piss?
Max we would post this news any day regardless, just happens to be today there is lots coming out of AM, but its a V12 vantage!
Don’t like the interior! It doesn’t get any better than soft grippy suede my friend – especially when it comes to steering wheels and shifters.
I really would like to see this car hit the 3.9 sec O-100km/h
figure.
interior looks like it is suede leather – doesn’t work for me
but should be brilliant for soaking up the sweat as u attempt to tame the monster 12 cylinders contained within a light weight cage.
c’mon car advice guys, get over to gaydon and give us a first hand world exclusive!
Yes Tony, good for the gear stick knob and the steering wheel, but i’m not a fan of the way the seats are and the dash.
can someone lend me some money – I’ll pay it back, really!
I read somewhere yesterday that 2 kids were worth half a mill, i will sell someone 3 kids brand new never used if they give me that car.
Hahahaha…….Anthony you still trying to sell those kids off…….last time it was for the TRD …….I think this is better value! Same cost……
Hmmm, thats interesting Anthony.
I think you get more if you break them up and sell them as parts. Make sure you have enough ice to keep them fresh.
the rear from a distance looks like a ford mustang, slightly and the interior looks cheap and nasty, but other than that it looks quite terrific.
I’m not after money momo, I just want the car. If someone gave me the car i would not care what happened to the kids :D
Your cause is noble and your heart is pure, I wish you good luck.
ahhahahahhaha!
Just saw this on the latest down loaded version from the UK Top Gear…………..1.23 around the track with the Stig!
Orgasmic!!!!!!!
BM, I think you might have mistaken it with the DBS review on Topgear.
DBS did 1:23.9 on the dry, Vantage RS should be quicker than that.
mmmmmmmmm….will have to check that again Momo.Have you seen the new episodes ?
Lcat……I agree interior is a let down……..all in napro leather please!
Yep……..your right the NEW DBS…….!
No, just judging by lap times. And also, Finalgear has this description:
“Jeremy drives the Aston Martin DBS, James Bond’s car”.
You should down load them……..there the same ones showing in the UK now!
what program do you use to download this stuff – does it work with a Mac
utorrent, having gotten the torrents from an array of websites.
I just saw this car in larger pix and it is seriously a good looking car. Better than the DBS
