Lexus LFA Supercar arrives in OZ

Lexus LFA - worth a ticket to this year's Australian International Motor Show on it's own

Undoubtedly, one of the star attractions at this year’s Australian International Motor Show this month will be the Lexus’ genuine world-class supercar, the LFA.

We have just received photos of the car’s arrival into Australia and you’ve got to agree, it does indeed look the business.

Make no mistake this is a very serious piece of machinery, and only 8 lucky Australians will get to own one.

Powered by bespoke 4.8-litre V10 which develops 412 kW @ 8700 rpm and 480 Nm at 6800 rpm, the front mid-engine LFA will top out at 325km/h, and rocket from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds.

Power is driven by a bespoke six-speed ASG (Automated Sequential Gearbox) and the LFA weighs in at 1480-1580 kilograms.

The LFA has an aluminium body, although, there is extensive use of carbon-fibre throughout the car’s exterior and interior.

Chief engineer on the LFA, Haruhiko Tanahashi said, “I wanted to create a state of euphoria” “…to build a supercar that would take the driver to this state through the unity of its parts – the engine sound, its feel when revving, its handling and stability.

I, for one, will be having a good old sticky-beak at the LFA while at the Motor Show.
