DBS to star in next Bond film

Co-incidentally, right after we published our V8 Vantage Roadster review, Aston Martin has announced that the DBS will again be the star of the next Bond film.

To be released in theatres around the world in November next year, the film, which has a working title of Bond 22, is a Wilson/Brocolli production, and is to be directed by Marc Forster who made Stranger than Fiction, and Monster’s Ball.

We’re hoping the DBS in this film doesn’t come to the same tragic end as in Casino Royale, where it picked up a Guinness World Record for ‘The Most Cannon Rolls In A Car’.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez, was his usual effusive self.

“Aston Martin is proud of our long association with James Bond. The DBS has its own unique character which equals that of James Bond. It is explosive power in a black tie,” he said. “It is the perfect car for James Bond as it delivers the complete driving experience and bridges the gap between our road and track cars – the DB9 and DBR9. It is equally at home on a twisting mountain circuit as on the open road and we are all very excited at the prospect of seeing it on the big screen again.”

Bond is a lucky ******. Spy business Workcover premiums must be pretty high to drive 1 of these, especially when he must be over 90 years of age by now!

The Aston chase scene in Casino Royale was rubbish, I want to see a proper one that does Bond and the DBS justice.

Well I have to say, that would be a better looking Aston Martin for the movie.

Yes I hope this one makes it to the end of the film, the other one probably had a reading of 10km on its odometer before he totaled it.

    Good!

They’re trying to be ‘artistic’ in that tragic crash. They’re saying people are expecting for a high-speed chase that will last several minutes, but made a twist and let the car roll over instead.

Artistic my bottom, it was like unfolding a Playboy centerfold only find the head of Jeremy Clarkson.
