2010 Holden Barina Spark to debut at Sydney AIMS

The new Holden Barina Spark will make its debut at the Australian International Motor Show next week, showcasing the Daewoo Matiz design.

CarAdvice mentioned a few weeks ago that Holden would be launching its Holden Barina Spark some time in October, but it's not until now that it all makes sense; the AIMS will be the launch.

John Elsworth, executive director of sales, marketing and aftersales for Holden, said in a recent report,

"This is a very style-conscious market and with Barina Spark we have a really fresh and energetic design that breaks the ‘cute car’ mould. It’s fun, fuel efficient and offers class-leading safety features and value for money in the best Holden tradition."

As expected the new car will feature a 1.2-litre, twin cam petrol four cylinder capable of hybrid-like fuel consumption figures - 5.6L/100km, as per ADR81/02 to be specific - with a manual five-speed transmission.

Standard features will include electronic stability control, ABS brakes and front, front side and curtain airbags (six in total). Pricing for the new Barina Spark will be released at AIMS.
