Golfschwein, on your second post you noted that it looked like the past gen. Passat.. That’s because it features many design similarities as the Passat such as the arch shaped rounded roofline.

Also, has anyone been inside an Octavia! It’s like they’ve stolen so many parts from the Mk4 Golf/Bora! I swear if I ever want to update my Bora i’ll just buy an Octavia.. It’s the same thing!

Duck, if anything it looks similar to the previous model Passat, so long as you’re referring to the bottom picture, which is of the old model.

That’s no surprise, seeing it was based on it. At a guess, I’d even say the front doors are interchangeable.

Hmmm…folks, the car in the bottom picture is the old one, so be careful with the Avalon word.

The name’s a bit of a problem. I’d cringe if my parents christened me Excellent, which they didn’t, Thank God. They called me Listen, instead.

The rest of the names are cool, I reckon, Lcat. You know, there’s Boxster, Utester and so on, so Roomster’s groovy enough for this sixties child. I checked one out in the flesh and there’s loads of aesthetic appeal, in my view, too.

Bav Mis, I think it’s pronounced “Shkoda”, is it not? That’ll explain the fancy wiggle thing on the S.

yep, i agree with u chris, names are a problem – superb, octavia, fabia, roomster ?? what next? a skoda pagoda!!!
even hyundai have woken up to the name game’s emotional shortcomings & gone to bmwesque nomenclature.
mind u vw hit it with a bit more style & imagination in the 70’s with the wind theme – golf,scirocco, passat. it was too sophisticated for the yanks and golf became rabbit?? vw’s wind fixation continues today with eos – greek godess of dawn & wind.
anyone got suggestions for skoda to rename their fleet?

Myke – its bigger than the Octavia, Passat size. The old one was great, my wife had the 130hp diesel, it was actually a stretched Passat (50mm longer) the rear was limo like. Skoda are VAG’s cheap end market, although you wouldn’t believe it. Pretty Good Car with plenty of grunt.

Pity the Photo is so dark, i’d have one on the driveway no problem, apart from minicabs here (UK) tend to use them as they are so good for passengers.

The Škodas don’t realy have as much grunt as I thought they had.
