Toyota had a massive recall. 3.8 million cars.16 people died because their Toyota had a fault with the system computer which controlled the brakes and pedals.Toyota is a death trap.All German cars have a system to prevent such an incident from happening.Its called brake-to-idle.The brakes will override the pedals even if your pressing the pedals down.Unlike in those those toyotas where 16 people have died.
German engineering saves lives.Toyota quality is slipping too along with their safety.Vw surpassed toyota as world number one car producer in nov 2009.Toyota=fail lol its a disgrace to Japan.

The only way VW will overtake Toyota sales is by improving on the quality of it vehicles. You can turn a turd to look like a rose by a little restyling, but it is still a turd. I live in the U.S. and every VW product sold here that I have read about has an abysmal reliability record. I wish them well.

I agree, some cars are just cooler, despite power/prestige/build.

RAV4 > Touran/Sharan
GTI > Camry
etc..

The winner will be the one with the cooler, more enjoyable/drivable car.

(P.S. i’m the one in the blue mk1 golf cabriolet on Sundays > toyotas)

It is true, all dealers despite brand can be wanky, Salesman tired, sick of tyre kickers. The best dealer is one who will stay back after hours (till 7pm) to sell me a car.
I hope all car makers learn quickly that service standards must be kept high to get those sales. Even if the customer has an unshaven face, daggy jeans and sneakers (as i do).
The Tiguan arrives soon : )
