hey we all speed a little, maybe cops should look at if someone is actually driving dangerously or irresponsibly, rather than if they are going a couple kays over government set speed limits!! it just takes commen sense if we all drive to the conditions of the road rather than watching speedonit would be a smarter system,, and book the hoons/dangerous or irresponsible drivers…

He sounded like a pompous,arrogant and sanctimonious buffoon on the youtube clip.He had a “take no prisoners” attitude as if he had a God-like mandate to do so-What a disgrace,he should’ve lost his license for 12 months minimum and ordered to carry out a 12 month community based order to clean and maintain the speed cameras.In addition, he should’ve been ordered to write out “I MUST NOT SPEED” 10,000 times,so that the message about the danger of speeding sinks into his thick policeman’s skull.

And thats the problem that there is no way around.. Cops are human too and they do stupid things too but have the power to punish us for doing the same. I wouldnt believe anyone that told me they’d never sped. Everyone does it whether deliberately or through not being attentive to the speed because they are concentrating on staying alive!!!

I just hope that he is punished in the harshest way that anyone else that has done 50kmh over!!! He should also be stood down from his position.. The problem with that is, the next person will speed to some degree its just a question of whether he will get caught..

Yeah good call Tony, I couldn’t agree more. Even seeing a cop on the road slows me down, cameras don’t.

The trouble with cameras is you get to know where they are and back off accordingly. Flawed logic really.

This UK incident has been going on for weeks now, and I for one am pleased he’s had the proverbial book thrown at him.

A cop who owns an A8!! Revenue raising exposed for what it is.
Speed cameras, as someone wrote here the other day, are absolutely useless in stopping speeding drivers. They usually maintain their speed after the camera has taken their pic.

What on earth happened to loud looking fluro police cars which could be seen for miles (UK cars) and slowed traffic for the equivalent distance around them.

I’ll tell what happened – the government discovered economics 101. Reduce wages and capital investment, while at the same time, increase earnings by 1000%. As I said, economics 101 – which has absolutely nothing to do with saving lives!
