Wow, when the concept or preproduction pictures were released a while ago i thought it was hot!

Looking at it now, just plain hideous! The rear one the sedan and hatch both look so oldschool, harking back to some sort of mid 90′s car. The front is so soft roader style. Looks like a mish mash of stuff!

  • KM

Nice front end, not bad interior BUT what the hell is going on with the rear end

    • nickdl

I agree, from side on the rear lights look like a middle finger.

  • Aleks

I really like it :D, and the interior, thats one of the best I’ve seen in a long time in any car.

  • Bold

well, I think opel astra is still far better.

  • ox

Font end is a complete mess

    • zahmad

Mazda has smiley face, Ford has gaping mouth to chew something!

    • erneztp

Agreed. While the interior is very inviting, the front end is too busy and scary.

  • Justin

A crss between a modeo and focus, did not work at all

  • Labrys

Wow…just wow. That really is bad.
Maybe Faux News needs to do an exclusive on what the Ford designers are on?

  • JEKYL & HYDE

and here was i thinking that auto high beam was a girl-only feature…

  • Adam

Looks great! Combined with the 1.6 EcoBoost and a 6 speed auto this will be very popular I’d imagine.

  • KinFungL

Don’t like the look of the lower front grill and the rear of the hatch… If they can change the sedan into liftback it’ll be great!!!

    • maximark

If they can change the sedan into liftback it’ll be great!!!

Then it will look like a Lancer sportback.

  • Hung Low

Nice Interior and drive train options, especially the Ecoboost engine!
But why are all these new cars looking so generic?

  • gearboxdawg

Back looks like a Toyota corolla. front is OK, grille looks like someone’s sat on it.

  • Shak

The tech list sort of covers the design flaws, not that there are many. I would say that only the sedan rear lights need improving. Seriously, i am left in open mouth disbelief that those sorts of tech options are even available as options in this end of the spectrum. Could this maybe point to whats to come from the Global Large car and the next mondeo.

  • Don

Focus looks great! Top tech and engines.

  • ABMPSV

Everybody is talking about how it looks but what about the engines? I think Ford did a very good job. I never had a Ford but with this engines…well maybe I will buy one. Good power and torque combined with very good fuel economy.

  • vrx26

    Looks like a catfish

  • bangel

Great to see another good euro design , europe is powering ahead over the boring asian designers .

  • Damian

I bet the South African built version we’re inevitably going to get, is going to have its specification sheet butchered. Quality will be NOWHERE NEAR the European built versions (just look at our current Focus – it’s crap).

    • maximark

Damian, luckily, the Focus will be built in Thailand this time.

  • Tony M

Great lines. The sedan looks the best. Colour choise I believe for interior and exterior will be very important. Engine options are fantastic, especially the 2 16oo motors in diesel and petrol type. Now the next thing will be price.

  • Mr Brooksy

Looks sooooo much better than the front of the ST (XR5)! No whale shark front works! IF I were to buy the sports model (which I won’t as I want a large sedan) I’d want to swap the nose from this onto the ST (XR5).

  • Byron

Hmmm, exterior looks pretty bad. Front end looks like s**t & the back end looks like a Mondeo gone wrong. And whats the go with the huge tail lights on the sedan/hatch?
Interior looks too busy, but the steering wheel looks like crap. Holden Cruze has a better interior :D If this were badged a Holden, there would be alot more haters commenting on this than they’re actually are.

  • GooSE

that front end is horrible what were the designers thinking!? plus that centre console is way too busy.
shame though because under the skin this will most likely be a very good car

  • andy

WOW! dunno about the sedan but the hatch looks fantastic. shouldn’t struggle to outsell mazda 3 and cruze, if its not just a pretty face!! (-:
