2011 Ford Ranger to debut at Sydney Motor Show

Ford has chosen Australia's Sydney International Motor Show to debut its new Ford Ranger. The new ute was initially developed here in Australia but it will go on sale in over 180 international markets.

Ford hasn't really provided us with much detail of the new car except that it will be about 10 percent smaller in dimensions than the Ford F-150 big brother.

President of Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, Joe Hinrichs, said in a recent report,

"Australia has played a leading role in the development of this latest global Ford product. Ranger is symbolic of how our great product development capability is being leveraged by the ONE Ford plan like never before.”

The new compact truck is expected to use the current 3.0-litre diesel engine but reports say a 2.7-litre turbo diesel might also be in the mix.

For a glimpse of the new car head over to the Sydney International Motor Show, opening October 15. Look out for more preview details of the show in the approaching weeks.
