I’m looking forward to the baby Touareg – could be one of these in my drive since I can’t quite afford the big brother :)

R-Line, S-line(Audi) are for the posers.

    R50, R32 are not part of R-Line, and you don\’t call S4/RS4 a S-Line vehicle. R-Line/S-Line = Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement(RICE).

Some journos and car salesmen have a lot to answer for, haven’t they All Cars? It would be interesting to have it confirmed that “R-Line” is VW’s designation or something the good site owners here coined.

How many times do you look at the used car rags and see a Commodore S Pack? S Pack? There was never one. You could buy a Commodore S or a Commodore SS.

  5. phaeton says:

VW Individual GmbH designs all the R-Line packages (not sold in Australia), Cross series (not sold in Australia), Individual packages and Golf R32, Passat R36 and Touareg R50.

-R-Line is to VW as M Package and S-Line is to Audi

-R is to VW as M and RS is to Audi

Currently the R-Line package is available on the Golf, Touran, Passat, Passat Wagon, Touareg and now Tiguan in Europe.

I bow to your greater wisdom, Phaeton.
