Fiat 500 to launch in the US after 50 years

After an absence of almost half a century, the Fiat 500 will again be available in the US later this year with a choice of three trim levels, and all variants will be powered by the company’s 1.4-litre Multi-Air petrol engine.

Chrysler is owned by Fiat these days and will offer the 500 Sport in the US with sports suspension, revised front and rear bumpers - allowing for a larger front grille, in addition to wider sills.

16-inch alloys are also standard kit, along with red brake calipers and chrome exhaust tip.

Chrysler will add to the model line up in 2011, with the launch of the 500C (convertible).
