I’m looking for a little help. I have a Ford Futura 1963 1/2 ( US import ) that i’m thinking of selling and I dont know the best place to sell it. I relise that this site is for Aussie cars but as you are all so into your cars I was hoping someone might have helpful info. Thanks. Laine

rick I feel sorry for you. you seem very angry. the L34 was so much more than bolt on gaurds (ref to GM’s baby article Australian V8 Action mag not only was it a handling option vehicle but the power plant was a Phase 4) look outside your bubble. keep an eye on the the $ of gen L34 with only approx 25 true unmolested vehicles out there the 230k achieved 2 weeks ago is only the start. by the way I also love GT’s.

Paying that much money for a one off built a few years back to a 35 year old falcon is a bit different. Look at the XW GT Bill Bourke Special. Only GT to come out of the factory with a Cobra Jet 428 and it is priceless.

Rick – you say that no-one would pay 800K for any Holden.. Richard Fellazio Holdens Chief Designer and man behind the EFIJY has said that he has lost count of the number of times people [particularly in dubai] have offered him more than $1m for the “Hot Rod of The Year.”

And for your information – I think you’ll find that nearly every bodykit on every sports car including Fords and Holdens is infact “Bolted On”
I mean to make the panels with the Flares and Decklid spoilers etc in one piece would be bloody expensive if not impossible

Ease up mate none of us are saying GTHOs aren’t the best Muscle Car in Australia………I am a Ford lover and own a GT ,what I am saying is that the Bathurst Toranas are undervalued for what they are! You cant be so one eyed when it comes to appreciating good Australian Muscle Cars its not about the badge with old stuff but the history it comes with that make them interesting! I think you will find that the Phase 3s will drop a little now that the collectors have got what they want……..even GT owners will tell you the price is overinflated at the moment! Including GT parts…….

Ar eyou kidding me ? How can you compare a bolt-on body kit on a Torana to a GT-HO ? Holden sure do like after thought body kits dont they? Get real you Holden wankers …………the best car Holden ever had was the XU-1 without a doubt. Nobody will pay $800,000 or more for any Holden…..period.

The L34 did sell very cheap because it was rebodied, (mind you shannons only informed just prior to auction commence).
Last one sold on ebay for over 230k ! THE L34 IS THE TRUE BREED OF AUSSIE MUSCLE CAR. the punters just havent figured it out yet!

I think the collectors are thinning out for the more expensive range of Hos now…….its seems that the enthusiasts are buying them now but there not prepared to pay over inflated prices like the true collectors.

Gee the L34 went cheap I think! I liked the colour! There great looking cars those XU1s although I would have to have a green one!
