Porsche Panamera sells 22,518 in first year of sales

Despite the controversial looks, Porsche has sold over 22,000 versions of the Porsche Panamera sedan in its first year of production. Porsche recently built the 25,000th unit at the Leipzig factory, having sold 22,518, Porsche is almost struggling to keep up with the orders.

This has put a zip on the mouths - so to speak - of all those anti-Panamera punters who said this car wouldn't sell. The design is still an acquired taste that can grow on you but it's the foundations and the car as an overall performance package that has won over the 22,518 individuals.

Member of the Management Board for Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG, Bernhard Maier, said in a recent report,

"Our corporate strategy of value-oriented growth has proven itself to be a successful model: With the Panamera, Porsche has clearly positioned itself with the sportiest automobile in the high-end and luxury-class market and achieves already a 13 percent share of its segment today."

The most popular model so far is the Panamera 4S (9394 units), followed by the range-topping Turbo (6171units) and then the entry model V8, Panamera S (4563 units).
