Sources have provided CarAdvice with some information about the upcoming Holden Spark which will compete in the market against the Suzuki Alto and Proton Savvy.
To be based on the Daewoo Matiz, speculators are saying the super-mini will take up presence as the new entry-level Holden, taking over – or under – the Holden Barina. The new super-mini is said to be 24cm shorter than the current Holden Barina, in five-door form.
Powering the model will be a very frugal 1.2-litre engine offering 60kW, and, contrary to the name, it won’t receive electric-help by means of hybrid technology. The car is available overseas and is marketed as a Chevrolet where it presents fuel consumption and emission figures of 5.1L/100km and 119gm of CO2/km, respectively.
Sources also say the car will hit the showrooms by next month. We should expect a price tag of around $14,990.
