You all must try and understand that to buy this car ensures tht we are doing our bit for the environment. The car is luxurious, and if like most sensible people you buy an ex demo or ex Lexus management car with all the warranties, you can save yourself around 30% or more. Exactly what we have done, without all the guilt of driving a gas guzzler. Come on people, why not try and do your bit.

Why is the US version of the same car LESS than HALF the price? The Aussie - USD has not been at 50c.

I was gonna say, I thought it had 200kw, 155kw sounded a bit low.

Sgt.Sweetchuck, the difference is this, value.

Especially with the RX330, it's basically a small comprimise.
It's either that or an X5 3.0i and for the price of a base X5 3.0i it's a loaded RX330 with all the gadgetry one could desire also matched with the lower servicing costs which is why the RX sells so well.

The comprimise however is the drive in the X5 is still a better drive but when it comes right down to it, especially the sort of funds we pay for cars here in Australia, the RX is ultimately a better buy as the luxuries you get are expected by the customers that buy there's sorts of cars, especially as toureres (11 speaker sound system, GPS, sunroof, Xenon's etc.) make long distance fun.

The RX330 is discontinued, replaced by the RX350.

The RX350 uses a 3.5-litre engine with 203kW and 341Nm.

The RX330 had 172kW and 328Nm.

I forgot to mention the 3.3-litre in the RX400h has 155kW but its also got two electric engines, putting power up to 200kW!

I was just wondering, i think the "petrol brother" would infact be the RX330 as the RX400h sports the same (3MZ-FE) engine.

I'm confused... Did they lower the power output of the RX400h?
This would be odd as it's still faster than the RX330.

RX330 = 172kw/328Nm which sounds about right too. (Wikiepedia claims 166kw/323Nm which i'm pretty sure is wrong).

I just think that maybe Carsguide got the figure wrong.
