60th Anniversary Land Rover SVX SE

November 23, 2007 by George Skentzos

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Land Rover have unveiled the special edition Land Rover SVX in London overnight.

Special Edition Land Rover SVX

Finished in metallic black with subtle satin black highlights, the SVX is Land Rover’s most stylish and feature-packed Defender to date.
The SVX will be available in two models – a 90 soft-top and 90 wagon.

Additional features include unique SVX badging, side steps, a more prominent front grille, clear headlamps, five-spoke alloy wheels and clear LED tail lights.

Custom Recaro sport seats take centre stage in the modern interior, which also features sat nav, iPod connectivity, and an enhanced audio system. The soft top also receives additional roll-over enhancements.

In total only 200 units will be made, 140 soft tops and 60 wagons, with each numbered individually. However it is unlikely any will find their way to Australia.

Went past a Land Rover dealer in Brisbane last night and saw all the new Land Rovers, but there was an old car there. I Throught it was an old series II parked there, but no. It was a new car.

It’s not about how it looks, it what it does. It’s a tank. It will take you anywhere you want to go. It’s got a four cylinder diesel engine. It’ll still be on the road in 20 years time. If I had to disappear in the middle of nowhere I’d what to be driving that vehicle.

  8. Waldo says:

Defenders are awesome and this thing looks insanely cool like way better than a wrangler and I bet it handles off road to

  9. William says:

I like it. It’s the ideal car for the island where I live. Load the surf on and off you go!!

More practical looking of the Jeep commander.

I wish I could afford to buy on myself!!

This is a bloody awesome and anyone that says otherwise is an idiot you can keep ya low slung sports cars if i had this id just park on top of you and you wouldn’t be going anywhere and the other this this car will still be running when your sports car is rusting in a heap this thing will still be rolling round looking good

  11. Paul says:

This vehicle is too ugly to be given the name “SVX”.

P.S.: My SVX, a “low slung sports car”, is still going after 16 years and in great shape, while the Land Rover belonging to a doctor in my neighbourhood, which is only 12 years old, is the “rusting heap”.
