Video: Cadillac CTS-V sedan Nurburgring “Competition” TVC

By George Skentzos |

Cadillac has released the full television spot of its flagship Cadillac CTS-V sedan on the Nurburgring where it previously set a blistering lap time of 7:59.32.

In the commercial, Cadillac says it was inspired by German rivals such as the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG to create the world’s fastest production sedan – and that this was just the start.

yes i totaly think BMW and Merc designers sit around a table and say “hmmm noo it needs to be more up to the standard of a cadillac” lol

  • The Realist

    I’ll keep my E60 M5 thanks…

But much as it pains me to say it, they have more right to boast “USA 1 – Germany 0″ than say the bogans choice HSV…

How much will this cost in Australia? From my perspective his car represents the ultimate daily driver for a family man.

When Cadillac were going to launch in Australia the standard CTS was going to be around $80 – 90k with the 3.6 V6. In the end the first shipment went to a dealer in NZ and were sold for around NZ$60k.

I’d say this would be around $180k if it is launched here.

I think the cars went to the UK, not NZ.

NZ (like Australia) was due to re-introduce Cadillac late in 2008, but the GFC caused GM to cancel the plans in Jan 2009.
There are no plans (as far as I know) for Cadillac in NZ or Oz anytime soon.

I guarantee they went to NZ. There were about 60 left at the end of 08 and they were offered to dealers in Aus and NZ, one Holden dealer in Hamilton took them. I saw quite a few driving around the North Island.

GM said they were reconsidering launching Cadillac in Aus in the near to middle future.

One of the best vehicles to come out of America imo. I wouldn’t mind having one.

    P.O.S.!!

The guys in the US get this thing for sub-$70k :(
THe CTS-V would SMASH a HSV W427, and make an F6 feel positively slow. It makes an M3 sedan look overpriced.

That’s a good ad. It acknowledges their competition in a respectful way and then says all it needs to in sound and video.

    I like ;)

    Looks promising.

A good car. Handles well stops well. Looks and sounds the business. Excellent fit and finish quality. And from what I’m told, good service back up from the dealer network. Wish we had this on aussie soil. HSV should aspire to this car. I’d almost go so far as to say it’s overall a better package than the ZR1…but then the ZR1 is as quick as ferrari’s finest, so thats a tough call…..
