Both Porsche and VW make beautiful cars. trouble is that they're becoming so popular. You can't go anywhere without seeing a couple of Touaregs, Cayennes, 911 Boxsters, or Golfs.. it appears as if nearly everyones got one.

And to me if you're paying so much for a Euro performace car you'd want a bit of exclusivity; particularly when paying over $100K.. which is why I'd opt for an Audi [S5]. You don't see half as many of them on the roads as you do with the others.

no not news to an audi driver.... hehehehe.... but i did have my butt in a raft fo VW's before my audis.... I have had many golfs in both diesel and petrol, V10 touregs, even a W8 passat!

All of them have been great. Id spend the extra dollars on a euro car anyday!

My partners parents have just bought a new impreza and compare that to the golf, theres no comparison between them!

I agree with you, Tonyn. My Golf is packed with standard gear that didn't go close to making its way onto a Corolla spec sheet. Little things that don't shout their presence, such as holding down the lock button on the remote fob to close your windows and sunroof from 20 metres away. Yeah, DROOL...lol, that's not news to an Audi driver, is it?

Then there's the depth of stuff that gets engineered into a car freom the beginning, like multilink rear suspension, galvanised body shell and six speed gearboxes all round. You can't do down to Supercheap and add that sort of stuff to your Tiida, Corolla or anything else someone reckons a VW looks expensive against.

yer pays yer money and yer takes yer choice, as always.

FO,
I think there is plenty more over rated company that charge too much for there cars before id lump VW and Porsche in that catergory!

I think a VW offers exceptional value for money when you compare its competition

You know...where you could stuff a Porsche motor into a Dak-dak and scare the pants off anybody on the road?!!!
