give random australian drivers guest spots as hosts on the show and let them decide who they like. just look at the uk version that long haired bloke wouldnt be part of the crew would it not be for his popularity and comedic value. i think the show would benefit from a sort of ‘reality tv’ host recruitment (at least in the first series)

Helen Eastwood should be host of Top Gear Australia… Has had practicial experience in rallying at the top level. Has a great sense of humour, practial knowledge of motor cars, has imagination and is a gifted presented and being the mother of two sons has personal knowledge of what appeals not only to her genaration but communicates well with the younger ones as well… Give her a go… You won’t be disappointed….
