BMW M5 G-Power Hurricane RR breaks record with 372.1km/h run

G-Power, renowned BMW tuner, has broken the world speed record for the fastest sedan by reaching 372.1km/h. The car, called the BMW G-Power Hurricane RR - which sounds like the name of an action figure's gyrating rocket pack - beat the previous record set by a Mercedes-Benz, Brabus Rocket, by 6.4km/h.

The car is powered by the BMW M5 V10, although, it's been heavily modified incorporating twin superchargers. Total output is 597kW. The body has also been treated to a few subtle modifications such as the addition of a sleek front bar, and side skirt extensions.

To achieve this colossal speed, the wheels had to be downsized from the factory 20 inch size to 19 inch rim size. These were also wrapped in high-speed rated Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Other 'big' numbers include a 0-100km/h time of 4.9 seconds; 0-200km/h in 9.0 seconds, and 25.8 seconds for the 0-300km/h run which is also a record time for this car segment.

Notice the fashionable Euro matte black finish is here as well.
