Chris Perry to head General Motors marketing of Chevrolet

General Motors has been through four different CEOs in the past 18 months and now, for the fourth time in 13 months, the company will appoint a new marketing executive for the Chevrolet arm. Chris Perry will head the marketing faculty, taking over from Jim Campbell.

Chris Perry comes straight from Hyundai Motors US, where he was the vice president of marketing and he's said to have over 20 years of marketing experience within the automotive industry. Perry will follow Joel Ewanick into General Motors, after Ewanick worked with Hyundai as a marketing executive as well.

Joel Ewanick said in a recent statement,

"I have worked with Chris in the past and know he will use his unique ability to integrate strategic and creative marketing activities across all communications disciplines to reconnect consumers to the Chevrolet brand.”

General Motors is continuing its high corporate staff turnover rate, with executives dropping off at least a few times per year as the company makes its way back from bankruptcy.

Hyundai executive director for communications, Chris Hosford, has confirmed Chris Perry has resigned from Hyundai which is effective immediately.
