John Cooper Works Mini Clubman
There have been some mixed reactions to the Mini Clubman. BMW (Mini's owners) has said it wants to build everything from convertibles to wagons on the new Mini platform. It was a plan for world domination - in the nicest possible way - but nobody said it was going to be pretty.
Thankfully, John Cooper Works has had its way with the new Clubman. Apart from the enlarged exhaust tips and sports stripes along the hood, roof and rear doors. The modified Mini rides on 18-inch alloy wheels while sporting an aero front apron with a hood scoop, blacked out tail-lights and carbon-fibre mirrors.
Power is expected to rise from 128kW to around 145kW. The 1.6-litre turbocharged Mini is reported to go from 0-100km/h in a tad over 6 seconds. It is also lowered with stiffer suspension.
To our eye there is just something odd about the look of the Mini Clubman, but it obviously appeals to someone, right?
Expect to see the car officially unveiled at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
