Morgan Eva GT teaser pics updated

By Karl Peskett |

Morgan has released another teaser pic of its forthcoming Eva GT, a four-seater, low slung sports car from the everlasting British manufacturer, giving us more of a view than previously seen.

Speaking with British mag Autocar, Morgan’s director Charles Morgan (see the heritage there?) said that it will be going into production in 2012. “We’re planning a production series of 100 cars and will start taking deposits this Sunday,” he said.

Using BMW’s lauded twin-turbo 3.0 litre six-cylinder petrol, the 1250kg car is said to go from 0-100km/h in around 4.5 seconds, but still sips at 7.0 litres/100km.

“Our goal with the Eva GT is to manufacture a practical car that could be used every day and answer all of a family’s transport needs,” Morgan added.

“Although it has two large doors, the car can seat four adults and has a large boot that’s considerably deeper than that of the Supersports. The Eva GT will be fun to drive, with sensitive hydraulic power steering and excellent chassis balance. The mass is evenly distributed within the axles and the car has short overhangs.”

The car will be officially revealed this weekend at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and based on the shapely pics above, it should be a real looker.

So is it wrong that I still want a cross-eyed Aero8 GTN badly?…

i really don’t see how this can be a practical car, when the landing strip of a bonnet is longer than the passenger compartment and boot combined.

The bonnet’s long enough to fit an inline-8!!
