Jet powered school bus is all kinds of awesome

Yes, you read the title correctly - a jet powered school bus. Words cannot describe the awesomeness. However a video can.

Created by Paul Stender from Indianapolis, U.S.A., (and his team at Indy Boys, Inc) this yellow and red beast is powered by the jet engine from an F4 Phantom, no less. It's said to have a top speed of 590km/h, but it's clear that the same person who is going to verify that a Gumpert Apollo can drive upside down on a tunnel ceiling, is going to verify the jet bus's top speed.

The UK's Telegraph quotes Stender as saying, "I built the bus for two reasons. The first is to entertain people because, come on, it's a jet bus. The second, is to keep kids off drugs. Jets are hot, drugs are not."

Well said, on both counts. But how is it going to keep kids away from drugs? It's to be shown at schools, apparently. And Stender hopes that's going to inspire them to build something as crazy as this. "There's more to life than sitting in front of computers," said Stender.

But top speed is only part of its ability. The other is to fry the living daylights out of those tailgaters who insist on sitting up a bus's backside - yes, it can fire off 20 metre flames.

If it was me, I'd be sure to be at school on that day. Window seat, anyone?
