We are not 100 percent sure this really is the next generation Isuzu D-Max, but we can’t think of anything else it could be.

The Isuzu D-Max is due for an upgrade and this prototype caught testing is more than likely the first mule of Isuzu’s upcoming ute.

The Isuzu D-Max Ute is currently in its second year of operations in Australia under the direction of Isuzu Ute based in Brisbane. We’ve previously reviewed the Isuzu D-Max.

In May Isuzu updated the D-Max with a minor update to the front and interior.

Looks like a 4×2 space cab SX.

Also the high mount stop light is solid red. Current mdl is clear.

So Holden won’t be selling this then? Or are they still importing the US Spec Ute?

I heard Chevy – re badged

I think you guys are right CA, it does look like the next generation Isuzu D-Max. Looking at the side mirrors, they look like they are from the current D-Max.

The headlights look like they are an evolution of the current look, but by the looks of it, it doesn’t really look like it’s grown much in size. The next generation Ford Ranger T6 looks a size larger from these pictures, but then again, it could just be the picture themselves that are giving that impression.

If it’s not the Isuzu D-Max, what could it be?? Hyundai or Kia’s up and coming Ute??

Could it be the next generation Holden Colarado which is due sometime in the close future. It looks like maybe a Isuzu badge that isa covered up but it would not be the first time a carmaker has put on another brands name and then covered it up to further put people off the scent. I do know that the next Colorado will not be built from the Isuzu platform but the front end looks a little like a evolution of the current model which is based on the DMax/Rodeo.

Looks like they intind to give it a purposeful stance by those shots and also the indicators in the mirrors suggest it will be a little more up specced too.

I\’m not sure they are still going to do utes for Holden but if they are this is a good chance for them to further distance themselves in the styling department. Certainly a more rounded front end than the current Colorado/ Dmax.
