2010 Toyota LandCruiser Prado sales going strong

The Toyota LandCruiser Prado is proving to be one of Australia's best-selling four-wheel drives. A total of 9132 units have been sold during the first half of 2010, an increase of 2796 compared to last year.

Toyota's total four-wheel drive sales this year has reached 26,980 units, comprising of the RAV4, Kluger and LandCruiser series. The figures are said to be double that of the closest rival's figures.

To help sales along, Toyota is also now offering satellite navigation on its VX models for $2500. The package includes an LCD screen that doubles as a monitor for the reversing camera. Also included in the deal is five more speakers to the in-car entertainment system, totaling 14 speakers.

David Buttner, senior executive director for sales and marketing Australia, said in a recent release,

"Prado is a great package that has strong market acceptance and extremely high customer loyalty. It is luxuriously comfortable and capable around town and, above all, it lives up to the LandCruiser heritage by delivering supreme off-road performance."

David Buttner also said there has been an increasing demand for turbo-diesel versions, too, which has helped sales.
