Fiat Abarth Promotional Video

Fiat is investing huge sums relaunching the Abarth tuning brand. The company believes high performance variants of its standard models will produce much needed Halo cars.

Although Fiat owns the likes of Ferrari and Maserati, it has recently struggled to emphasis the rich history of the brand’s motorsport history, so they’ve put together a short video showing off the Punto Abarth rally car… driven by an old lady:

While I do appreciate this car, having had a look at a current Punto, I dont understand how Fiat can release a Korean-Quality car and call it an Abarth edition, when they have already shown they can make a quality cheap car with the 500…

Fiat need to show us a real Abarth car and not some WRC spec weapon we can’t have. If it’s like the Punto, it will be way overpriced. Go buy a Peugeot 207 GTi which would crucify ANY Fiat Abarth!

The new Peugeot GTI isnt fast at all.
Cars like the clio 192 cup and twingo GT are good little racers.

The Punto just doesnt have the quailty to warrant the cost, also front wheel drive isnt ralley inspired unless its 4×4?

I cant wait for this to come out. Ive driven the 207 GTi and was massively disappointed, slow, unengaging and a gear box about ten years behind what I expect for todays cars. Hopefully the esseesse will come to oz!
