1200 HP Hennessey Venom GT sold to Dubai resident

By Anthony Crawford |

Exclusive US based distributor DiMora has delivered the first LS3 Twin Turbo 1200 HP (894 kW) Hennessey Performance Venom GT supercar to its new owner in Dubai.

The Venom GT is like no other supercar in the world, and that includes the Veyron. This thing is nothing less than a road hugging ballistic missile with its off the scale 894 kW and wait for it – 1537 Nm of torque.

Did I mention that the car weighs in at a superlight 1220 kilograms and is powered by a Texas-built, twin-turbocharged Hennessey Chevrolet LS-series V8 engine mated to a bespoke six-speed Ricardo manual transaxle. Final assembly of the car takes place at Silverstone, England.

It’s almost as quick as a Veyron too with 0-100km/h achieved in just 2.8 seconds. Top speed isn’t quoted but whatever it is, anyone driving this car will no doubt appreciate the adjustable rear wing for “exceptional high-speed stability”.

If you’re wondering about the price of the car, well that’s just as ballistic as the car the car itself, with prices starting at US$890,000 for the smaller 725 HP (540 kW) engine option.

We can only guess that the car delivered to the United Arab Emirates was close to US$1 million or more.

Also on the sales floor at DiMora is the Hennessey Venom GT X1 Prototype. It’s a matt black finish with a glass reinforced fibre body in right hand drive, and is powered by the smaller 725 HP Hennessey Chevrolet LS9 supercharged engine.

This particular car was featured on the May cover of Top Gear magazine.

Also its a LS9 twin turbo engine. Not a LS3. Who writes these articles?

Sorry about that, it’s a typo. LS9 is correct.

So if I raced this guy 0-100 in my Proton Savvy. He’d have a 10 second headstart at the clubhouse bar.

    Where’s the Viper engine?

  • Cristos

looks like a Lotus , maaaate.

    • Shak

Its built off of a Lotus Elise Platform and then a GM LS9 is shoehorned in the back/middle.

Get a feather weight Elise chassis…

Mount some off-the-shelf turbo parts onto a Chevy LS-series…

Whack that motor onto the back of the Elise. Truck it to a race track. With a screw driver, tune the springs and dampers ’til it gets the fastest lap time. Doesn’t need a lot of engineering..just need a bit of $$ and a screw driver…. “How hard can it be?” :)
