Volvo have certainly come a long way since their cardigan days to now be producing cars which have become a favourite for tuners worldwide.

The latest Volvo to emerge from the after market stable is the C3 by MR Sweden Motorsport.

Obvious changes include the aggressive front and rear bumpers, new side skirts and a roof spoiler.

Another welcome addition are the 18-inch ASA five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped with 235mm rubber.

An adjustable sports suspension system can lower the car by an impressive 60mm on the fly.

Modifications to the five-cylinder diesel are few, comprising of a new sports air filter and tuned ECU, which increases power from 138kW to 167kW.

However, the torque figure has risen to an impressive 432Nm which takes the car to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds from a standing start and on to 225km/h.

Noice! It certainly does look like Volvo has left the cardigan days. Thank the lord! Any way, power is a tad low, but torque is magnafique!

  2. George says:

Power may not be that impressive, but remember its a diesel so torque is where its at.

Remember even the mighty R50 V10 diesel makes ‘only’ 258kW but 850Nm.

  3. ImportJap says:

850Nm…to put that in perspective, that’s around the same as the huge silverado.

Looks awesome too, one of the best Volvo’s I’ve seen.

  4. wheelnut says:

I like the “Stealth” look. Howeve; It would really look cool with a pair of either Suicide or even Gullwing doors

  5. Toyota Paul says:

I dont share the same views as others on this…

    Front : Hot
    Rear : Ugly
    Rims : Crap
Engine : Loads of torque… but a tuned car, slower then your avg family car? Not good.

  6. Tom says:

toyota paul, what family cars do you drive? Because unless its turbo or V8, I don’t know any family cars that go from 0 – 100 kmh in 7.5s. And turbo or V8 (or supercharged) aren’t exactly average.

Still I’m surprised by the lack of speed. I know its diesel, but with the same power output of the turbo petrol five cylinder but heaps more torque i thought it’d be quicker. Must be the weight of the diesel engine i guess.

  7. Tom says:

actually, i take that statement back, i really need to get some sleep, these all nighters are killing me.

  8. mark says:

The front n side are an Audi S3 and the back of it i am glad i have never seen b4 n never want to see again! It looks like a busted arse hole.
