Ewan, I’m fairly sure that you must have left your guide dog at home on the day of the road test.
Please Please Please don’t tell us you would have this over a Rapide, Quatroporte, 7-Series. S-Class, etc. It does not matter how well it drives, not being able to hold your food down every time you went to look at your $300k investment in the driveway would be a tragedy……..
the quatroporte is ugly as sin
I agree, with it’s Kia Rio rear lights and all…
I think its sexy as hell, but hardly holds a candle to this car in any way except looks. The 7-series and S-class are totally different cars for different buyers, and a Rapide is going to be a vastly inferior -despite being sexier- car. I would take this anyday, though id also take any on the list anyday…
Would pick a Panamera first =D Would just refrain from having to walk behind it if possible.
I’m not a fan of the styling at all, it just looks wrong.
the front looks fine, they just need to bring the c pillar forward and give it more of a boot line rather than the coupe style back.
A friend of mine who does not follow cars and knows practically nothing about them told me last week “I just saw a Porsche sedan thing on the road! It was the most hideous car ive ever seen!”
I showed him pictures and surprise surprise, it was the Panamera.
No doubt its an absolutely jaw dropping brilliant car in every objectively measurable way. But subjectively the styling is just so ungainly i could not drive one.
I saw one parked near our local cinema one evening and I thought that, while perhaps a little challenging, it was a very beautiful car. My lady liked it straight up and she often hates anything different.
Seeing this car in the flesh does not compare to seeing the car pictures. Many people have said the Maserati QP when it first came out was awful looking with those dopey headlights and lack lustre rear. However, the QP has grown on many of us and the Panamera will be the same.
Porsche PR must be doing some voting here because, as much i like the concept (4 door sedan/coupe), it is just awkward when you see one in the flesh, out driving around.
It just doesn’t make you want to be in one, the way a 911 does…
Sorry, it is ugly and I couldn’t buy one !
I am not much aware and intrested in cars and what the car companies are coming up with,But when i saw Porsche it grabbed my attention and it was awesome. This is very deserving that this company is standing in the top 10 fastest car positions in the world,,
The panamera is truly a fantastic car.
Not a bad review but it’s a bit disjointed. Almost like it starts half way through the review.
What’s with the stock photos? No budget for a photographer? Disappointing.
I have to go against the masses. I actually like the styling and to me it immediately says Porsche. That is a good thing.
From the front its a car to drool over. Then you see the side and the back and drool turns to vomit…
Why has CarAdvice made exclusive use of press pictures for a car they’ve allegedly reviewed?
The reason for the stock photos is due to a new contributor (Ewan Kennedy) – the car was not photographed.
As always all CarAdvice reviews done by internal staff always come with high resolution exclusive pictures.
I think the mass vote goes for Fugly with this cars styling. I can say from a brief stint in one, that it drives like a 911 with four doors, and that is brilliant. But it is pig ugly. Why cant they make it drive good AND look good.
How come this uses less fuel than a Holden Commodore SSV when both are V8′s with almost same KW and Torque ??
It’s a combination of factors which lead to the Porsche using less fuel. Direct injection, 4-valves per cylinder, PDK…
its called technology
People who don’t get the appeal of the Panamera are idiots.
The price doesn’t justify it a F6 Typhoon manual is faster for that kind of money I will be looking at the 911 Turbo for a little extra
2010 Porsche Panamera 4S’ well done the pics are nice one.Do you have any idea about the similar car like this,,
