    HAHAHA that is absolute gold..

  2. Anthony says:

That is funny and i enjoyed it, Though working in insurance i know people generally can’t park for themselves and the size of your wallet is not proportional to your driving ability.

  3. Hendrik says:

    Hahahahahaha

    Audi 1

    Expensive Toyota 0

  4. Supercujo says:

Lexus’ response to Audi’s response is excellent.

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

  5. Reckless1 says:

    I second that,

    Audi 1

    Toyota 0

Playing catchup does not a winner make. Lexus should have just enjoyed the Audi response for what it was – very clever , and not in any way nasty or derogatory.

  6. Kiasu says:

    Haha funny advertisements.

Lexus made a good comeback with their response.

The fact that Audi attacked Lexus shows that Lexus is a strong competitor. What Audi has done is a common tactic used by companies who are often behind their competitors. This is a well documented marketing strategy.

  7. ImportJap says:

*pats his a4… you know I love ya*

    :D

    Good ad!

  8. Anthony says:

How is ok for Audi to take a shot at Lexus but not ok for Lexus to come back. I think it just goes to prove one thing. Lexus gives you choice on how you want to park.

Apparently if you want you can park your car staring at the ceiling with a smile while your lady passenger cleans your gear stick.

    So i think its 2 Lexus – 1 Audi

  9. Plutonus says:

Both companies obviously have very good marketing departments evidently =)

  10. Reckless1 says:

Kiasu thinks Audi is behind Lexus?

Sorry, bloke, which planet do you live on?

Audi has about 56 models to Lexus’ 6, and Lexus has never won any autosport event such as Le Mans.

Audi perfected the Quattro before Lexus was a wet dream in Toyota’s underwear.

If Lexus had 56 models to work on and keep at the pointy end of the best cars available, they’d explode. Let me predict that by the time they have 10 models, Audi will have 100, all brilliant.

  11. Chaser says:

keeping in mind that Audi has been around far longer than Lexus. The fact that not all those 56models are exactly flashy. A certain proportion of them maybe all performance and what not, but that doesn’t make the entire rangeall brilliant as the entry base models are pretty much paying for just the audi tag. I do see that Lexus came up with the 8 speed transmission before Audi , and a perfected 8speed aswell. I’m not even going to count the number of Awards Lexus has won worldwide since the Ls debut back in the day and the performance range thats coming out soon (Is-F, Ls-f) thats when we’ll have a fair comparison.

oh no but narrowminded, egodriven cocktards with their sense of arrogance – won’t be able to appreciate that, because hey its still just a Jap car eh.

Reckless eh?, I only thought it was a nickname..

  12. JW says:

How many of those 56 models are engine choices?

Regardless, Audi is probably the weakest in my opinion out of the Mercedes – Audi – BMW – Lexus group. It uses front wheel drive quite commonly, when all the rest use RWD for most vehicles. You must pay the extra if you want 4WD. Besides, their vehicles look like the same car in different sizes even more than Mercedes Benz.

  13. Reckless1 says:

Chaser, so what if Lexus put 8 gears in a transmission.

Remind me again what races thay have won, and what use are 8 speeds in an auto anyway.

Quattro is a much more useful invention than 1 or 2 extra gears, which is not an invention. It’s just a development.

As I said, with only 6 models, they have plenty of time on their hands.

I didn’t say they were no good, which you have wrongly assumed, just that they aren’t superior to Audi and will never capture anywhere near the market Audi has.

  14. supercujo says:

Geez, most Audis are just tarted up VWs anyway.

Whatever pedestrian Audi you are looking at, you can generally find a VW that is cheaper and just as good.

  15. jamison says:

    Funny haha.

    BTW Reckless1,

I love Audi and respect their quality and performance cars, but I love Lexus too… looking at your post and hatred for Lexus, you forgot to mention that the past decade or so, since Lexus has been established, well its over a decade now, but the point is, the last decade alone, Lexus have improved year in and year out and has won quality awards and “Best” in the world awards. All with about a fraction of Audi’s experience in the “middle-high” class vehicle category.

56 models you say?… and how many of them actually matter? you’re counting entry level vehicles that is not even on the same class as the Lexus entry levels…

And, that statement about “expensive-Toyota”… again another ignorant post and thought… if you go by that thinking… then most of the luxury brands become “expensive-Ford”, “expensive-GM”, “expensive-Fiat”.. etc.
You get the point. Toyota Motors is actually just a child of the Toyota Industries, which consists of many more companies… Once again, Lexus is BENCHMARKED against the Germans…. meaning their built, materials, parts, suppliers are all in the same tier as the Germans…. same class parts… same performance targets..

Its rather simple…. Car manufacturers they manufacture certain components in-house, most parts that are classified as industry standards, meaning must meet SAE regulations yada yada yada, well those components are manufactured by suppliers, again suppliers differentiate by countries, in this case, Lexus and Audi have their tech centers, the major ones at Europe somewhere, now doesnt matter who, but they all do it to each other, they benchmark each other, copy each other’s nifty ideas, changing it enough to beat the patents, but in the end the steel grades, the tolerances on under body and upper body components, the suppliers… they end up the same or similar…. since they all designing and making cars based on each other’s models…. So yes… Lexus at this point IS on the same league as Audi… not so much in the High performance cars, as Lexus has just began their assault on that class as of recent years…

  16. Corolla Driver says:

Damn straight, that was funny as.
    Lexus all the way.
    Toyota motor corporation > You.

  17. Toyota Paul says:

Quality adverts by both… but Lexus takes the cake with its comeback, ‘ours cars can do it, but we dont promote it’. Take that Audi!

  18. Myke says:

This Park Assist is for people who are pure lazy. To be honest if you can’t be bothered parking your car, you should sit in the backseat and make someone else drive you around.

  19. Tonyn says:

that park assist is a crock of s@#t!!! is that how bad our driving standards are now….

  20. Bavarian Missile says:

So much for it being a drivers car! More like lazybones who cant park!

BMW do one where say you need to get in a tight spot like garage, you get out of the car in front of the garage shut the door and it will drive in itself, that would come in handy! Would stop me having to say to the kids,”watch the doors when you open the” still a wank though.I though guys liked gimmicks?

  21. Audi Sean says:

I have thoroughly enjoyed the commercials, and am glad that this back and forth is out there to prove that others have enjoyed this back and forth as well. I agree, both marketing teams should be commended. But note the World Car of the Year in its inaugural year was indeed the Audi A6. I have one with the V8 and trust me I am glad Audi is finally getting into the commercial business, so others can be made aware of what a joy it is to drive. Especially for the discriminating in performance, passion, and luxury, not just one of the “common” names. I eagerly await the next strike.

  22. JK says:

Lexus is for the automatic transmission driving Americans in their late 40s or older

Audi is for people wit a taste
