Suzuki Liana Recall – Retainer Clip
October 17, 2007 by Alborz Fallah
Suzuki Australia issued a late night press release announcing a voluntary recall on selected Liana models. The recall will address a potential problem with a retainer clip securing the gear selector cable.

Suzuki Australia says 3,519 manual-transmission Lianas built between January 2001 and January 2006 are affected.
Suzuki will contact all owners directly and urges customers to contact their nearest authorised Suzuki Dealer as soon as receiving their official recall notification advice .
The safety recall will replace the retainer clip following some reports of failure which led to the manual gear selector malfunctioning. In the case where first gear is selected rapidly with a high degree of force, the retaining clip may repeatedly strike the gear selector housing bracket and could ultimately dislodge or break.
The replacement clip is of a different design that will not strike the bracket under these conditions. Suzuki says the replacement will be free of charge and should only take about 20 minutes to fit.

This fault was discovered only in one car – the Top Gear track car.
That’s the only one that has had the gear lever slammed into first repeatedly :)
This is unusual for Suzuki known for reliability as I do own one, but it’s voluntary and reckless you are right I think they only used three gears around the whole top gear track, do you know when this show is back on TV..
I only got to drive one of these last week – 1.8L , was very surprised, good little bit of car.
im not sure when it airs on tv, but i’ve already seen the first two episodes of season 10. you wont be dissapointed :-P
is the reliability also slipping on the toyota owned brand?
I thought they were recalled because people were being put of their food by looking at this fugly box? LOL
You know 280zx …………..it looks like a lunch box!
Maybe its the first car available to be driven in braille ?
Wouldn’t put my dog in it!
